HEALTH AND SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT IN EVERYTHING WE DO...

..and this emphasis is reflected in our excellent safety record and constant effort to improve.

Our excellent health & safety record is achieved through:

  • Covid-19 Business Update - We are following Government Covid-19 Safety Guidelines to help keep all our customers safe,  for any concerns please contact us
  • Professional advice – in addition to our own in-house personnel, we ensure the highest of standards by utilising the services of external professional safety advisors;
  • Supervision – we employ a high ratio of supervisors to manage the scaffolding teams; all our supervisors are trained to SSSTS equivalent and hold CISRS scaffold supervisor cards;
  • Safety monitoring / surveillance – our scaffolds are inspected every 7 days and our systems monitored and reviewed to maximise opportunities for improvement and prevention;
  • Risk and method statements – by using job specific method statements and regular on-site toolbox talks we ensure that health and safety remains paramount at all times;
  • Inspections – with a full-time scaffold inspector we are able to offer a fully documented inspection / maintenance service, including where required the use of the ‘scaff-tag’ system.
  • PPE – all our personnel are provided with high-quality PPE to enable them to carry out their work safely. With safety critical equipment, controlled records are maintained for the purpose of inspection, maintenance and replacement.

CHAS

SAY is a fully accredited contractor on the Contractors' Health & Safety Assessment Scheme.

This scheme fully reflects the stage one requirements of assessing competence under CDM 2007. In becoming accredited, we have proven competence in managing health and safety through completing pre-qualification assessments to a nationally recognised and accepted threshold standard.

Constructionline

SAY is a fully accredited supplier on the Constructionline database.

Constructionline is the UK's largest government-owned register of contractors and consultants for the construction industry. With more than 8,000 key decision makers from over 2,000 buying organisations using Constructionline to select quality suppliers, it's a great tool to promote your services and gain new work opportunities.

Constructionline assesses suppliers' information to a common, transparent standard, so that buyers can source suppliers' standard pre-qualification data directly from our database.

Training at SAY

At SAY all of our employees are directly employed.
We continually undertake regular reviews of individual employees' progress and training needs, and consider this to be vital to our continued commercial success. By monitoring our training needs we ensure that our team of professionals are fully qualified and trained to the highest standard.

All of our scaffolders are CISRS registered and range in qualifications from Part 1 and Part 2 to Advanced, and their work is monitored by qualified CISRS Scaffolding Supervisors. In addition to their scaffolding qualification, our operatives are also given the necessary plant and tool operator training they need to carry out their work (e.g. fork lift, abrasive wheel, mobile elevating work platform).

Where specific projects have dictated it, we have also undertaken specialist training and are able to offer employees qualified in confined space working and personal track safety.

We increase safety awareness and competence with additional training through toolbox talks on a number of subjects such as: Working at Height, Site Management and Safety, SG4 Full Body Harness Competency, Scaffold Inspection, Safety Awareness, and Risk Assessment.

Pre-qualifications at SAY

Over the years, as more and more companies require competency assessment questionnaires to be completed prior to being accepted on tender lists, we have taken it upon ourselves to produce our own pre-qualification package, in order to answer as many questions as possible before they get asked.

All pre-qualification documents are available by request.
